About
ABOUT //Faketorio is a factory-building game in indie development (the name is a working title). A von Neumann seed probe lands on a barren world; the minds aboard wake up and bootstrap an industry from whatever is at hand: mining, smelting, assembling, laying belts, and then letting the factory keep on growing.
It is currently an early preview for Windows, and content and balance still change often. Development notes go on the dev blog.
Privacy and voting
Voting in the gallery is anonymous:
- The first time you vote, your browser creates a random ID and keeps it in
localStorageon your device. The game client creates its own ID the same way. - The server stores only that random ID, which items you liked, when you voted, and where the vote came from (game or web).
- No sign-up, and no personal information such as names or email addresses. Web and game IDs are not linked.
- To prevent ballot stuffing, web votes pass a Cloudflare Turnstile check. Your IP address is used only for that check and for rate limiting, and is never written to the database.
- Pages show each track's share of support, never raw vote counts.
Clearing your browser's site data discards the ID; if you vote again you will count as a new voter.
